Overview

Dr. Vinay Prabhu; currently a Professor in the department of Radiodiagnosis completed his MBBS, MD and DNB Radiodiagnosis from St. Johns Medical College in 2002 and has been a member of the Ramaiah Medical College faculty for the last 18 and a half years. Actively involved in the clinical services of the Ramaiah Medical College Hospital, Ramaiah Memorial Hospital and Ramaiah Indic Specialty Ayurveda Hospital, his academic scope includes teaching graduate students of Medicine and Medical Laboratory technology; teacher and guide to post graduate students in MD Radiodiagnosis as well as co-guide and co-mentor to students of MTech and PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the Department of Engineering and Technology, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences; the former Ramaiah School of Advanced Studies. An avid researcher in the clinical and biomedical spheres with a DRDO funded Biomedical Engineering project and publications to his credit; his passion in computational bio fluid dynamics has led him to collaborate with sister institutions and produce world class interdisciplinary research in addition to receiving prizes awarded jointly with his clinical and technical research colleagues and students. Regularly delivering academic lectures in Radiology and Radiographic technology; attending workshops and continuing medical education programmes he strives to update his skill and knowledge. He is an external examiner of Radiodiagnosis at other Medical Universities as well as for the National Board of Examinations.

Awards/ Accolades / Membership

  • He is a member of the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association having served as Joint Organizing Secretary of the State Conference of the Karnataka Chapter of the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association held at Ramaiah Medical College in March 2016.
  • He also serves as a member of the sub-committee on healthcare of the Board of Studies for vocational education programmes at the University of Trans-disciplinary Health Sciences and Technology, Bengaluru.
