Dr. Vinay Kumar Bahl, former Dean and Chief of Cardio Thoracic Centre and Head of Cardiology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, is a world-renowned name in the field of cardiology. He joined AIIMS in 1985 and brings over 40 years of experience and leadership in Cardiac Treatments at Ramaiah Memorial Hospital, Bengaluru.   • Contributed towards development of coronary angioplasty and stents, intravascular ultrasound, intra-coronary brachytherapy, fractional flow reserve, cardiac imaging and catheter ablation techniques in the department.
  • Started procedure of TAVI, Left atrial appendage closure, Rotaablation, coronary lithotripsy shockwave therapy in the department
  • Started procedure of retrograde non-transseptal balloon mitral valvotomy for the first time in the country.
  • First to perform Leadless Pacemaker in Country
  • Started procedure of mitral balloon valvotomy using Inoue balloon in the department and extended its use for treatment of pulmonary stenosis, aortic stenosis and IVC obstruction for the first time in the country.
  • Established normal indices of diastolic function as assessed by Doppler echocardiography for the first time in the country.
