She did her MBBS and MD in medicine from King George’s Medical University, Lucknow. and DM in Endocrinology from the prestigious Sanjay Gandhi institute of Medical sciences. After her DM she joined M S Ramaiah Medical College and Memorial hospital and is presently working as professor and Head of Department of Endocrinology. She has 21 years of professional experience in the field
She was awarded membership of National academy of medical sciences in the year 2016 and Fellowship of American college of Clinical endocrinologists in the year 2017. She was awarded FRCP(Edinburgh) in the year 2021.
She has won various awards for her research in the field of endocrinology and published more than 60 research papers and 30 chapters in various books.
She has also published two books in the field of Endocrinology by Jaypee publishers.
She is an elected member of the prestigious societies like Endocrine society of India, RSSDI (Research society for study of Diabetes in India, KRSSDI, ISBMR (Indian society of bone and mineral research), and Indian Thyroid Society. Endocrine society (International), American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) and American thyroid association
She is very active in patient care and has vast experience in managing complicated Endocrine cases including Diabetes Mellitus, Thyroid disorders, PCOS, Obesity, osteoporosis, calcium metabolism disorders, adrenal disorders, Cushing’s syndrome, Pituitary disorders, gender incongruence and hormonal disorders in children.
