He is well versed in coronary artery bypass surgery (off and on pump), valve repairs and replacements and aortic surgeries including aortic root enlargement and aortic root and arch replacements. He is trained in robotic cardiac surgery and minimally invasive cardiac surgery (MICS). He has vast expertise in congenital heart surgery including complex biventricular repairs, AV canal defect repairs and aortic arch repair and adult congenital heart surgeries. He is a National Board approved Mentor and has been training surgeons, nurses and perfusionists. He has more than 60 publications in indexed journals and has reviewed articles for several journals. He has been involved in establishing cardiac surgical units and has developed innovative surgical techniques in AVSD repair and hand-sewn conduits using bovine pericardium.
