Paediatric Nephrology

Within the child lies the fate of the future – Maria Montessori Paediatric Nephrology unit in Ramaiah Memorial Hospital is one of the few centres in the state of Karnataka to provide exclusive paediatric nephrology services.It caters to children with congenital and acquired renal diseases. The care also extends to critical care in managing acute kidney injury and initiation of renal replaccement therapy including acute Peritoneal dialysis, HD, SLED and CRRT. The unit has a very dynamic chronic kidney disease program which includes conservative management of CKD, initiation of maintenance dialysis – Hemodialysis and CAPD (Chronic Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis). Paediatric renal transplantation services are offered. Paediatric Nephrourology Clinic,which runs once per week in association with the Paediatric Surgery department caters to children with lower urinary tract disorders. Counseling for antenatally detected renal problems are also offered.
