Use Heart, Know Heart

Use Heart, Know Heart - Ramaiah Memorial Hospital Blog
September 29, 2023 / Cardiology

Cardiovascular disease is the most common non-communicable disease and accounts for 31% of mortality worldwide. World Health Organization observes World Heart Day on 29th of September every year. People all over the world come together to commemorate this day and to spread awareness regarding cardiovascular disease. Each year WHO issues a theme pertaining to important aspects of cardiovascular health.

This year the theme is “USE HEART, KNOW HEART”

Use heart – this promotes usage of heart emojis to spread awareness to public. Heart emoji emphasizes love, affection, compassion, empathy and life. It is apt to use these emojis to communicate the importance of health and prevention of cardiovascular problems.

Know heart – majority of the general population lack awareness regarding cardiovascular disease and its impact on global health. The need of the hour is to increase health education programs and to take the knowledge to the door steps of common people. Each one of us have to strive to acquire knowledge as well as to spread awareness across the community. We have to encourage community participation for early recognition, refer early treatment and for proper rehabilitation of patients with heart diseases.

Let’s take a pledge this year to:

  • Learn about cardiovascular diseases
  • Spread knowledge
  • Adopt healthy diet
  • Start exercising
  • Avoid stress
  • Get adequate sleep
  • Have fun time with family and friends
  • Participate in improving health of our family and friend

At Ramaiah Memorial Hospital we care for you with all our heart. We are fully equipped to handle any cardiac crisis and put the patient back on the road to recovery.
