Dr. Ashok Kumar an alumnus of the first batch of the Ramaiah Medical College completed his post-graduation in Radio-diagnosis from JJMMC Davangere in 1993 and has served in the department for nearly three decades as an expert in general and Interventional Radiology having headed the department between 2009 and 2019. He continues to be actively involved in the clinical services of the hospitals and in the teaching / guiding of graduate and post graduate students as well as in translation of technology to practice with a project on PACS and Teleradiology jointly with the University of Rochester, New York, USA. He has research publications in national and international journals and is an external examiner of Radiodiagnosis at numerous Medical Universities. Awards/ Accolades / Membership (not more than 250 words): He is a member of the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association and was the Joint Organizing Chairperson of the State Conference of the Karnataka Chapter of the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association held at Ramaiah Medical College in March 2016. He also serves as a member of various administrative and regulatory committees on campus. He was instrumental in forming the Ramaiah Medical Alumni Association in the year 2000 and organised the first Ramaiah Alumni meet as well as the Global Meet on campus as part of the silver jubilee celebrations of this Institution.
